Optional Google Analytics
If you choose Allow analytics, we use Google Analytics to understand page visits, engagement, outbound links and approximate geographic location. Google processes technical information such as browser and device information, identifiers and IP-derived location. We do not request GPS access. Advertising storage, advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled in our tag configuration.
Our tag removes query strings from the page address and reduces the referrer to its origin. Automatic site-search and form-interaction tracking are disabled. We do not send the stack finder's selections, names or email addresses to Analytics. Google may process data outside your country. See how Google processes information from sites using its services.
Cookies and your choice
Your allow or reject choice is saved in this browser for up to six months. If allowed, Analytics cookies are configured for a maximum of 180 days without automatic expiry renewal. Use Analytics privacy settings at the bottom of any page to change your choice. Rejecting stops our Analytics tracking and removes accessible Analytics cookies for this site. Previously collected data is not automatically deleted by changing this setting. You can use our guides without accepting analytics.
Hosting and local tools
Our hosting provider may process technical requests and security logs independently of optional Google Analytics. The stack finder operates in your browser. This website does not currently provide visitor accounts, comments or a newsletter signup form.
Affiliate links and external services
Some recommendations contain marked affiliate links, including Nord Security and beehiiv links. Clicking these takes you to another provider, which may use its own cookies or referral identifiers under its privacy policy. We may earn a commission. Rejecting our analytics does not disable tracking on external sites you choose to visit. With analytics consent, we also record which recommended product was clicked and which article contained the link. A click is not proof of a signup or purchase.
